Our neighborhood has a high child population that walks 1-2 blocks to get to their bus stop. It is completely dark and I cannot believe there has not been a tragedy in the early morning hours. There is no sidewalk and they walk on both sides of the street.

Transportation staff is checking with Duke Energy on the possibility of adding street lights to two existing poles close to this address. Updates on this will be provided as we receive them.

Is there an update for this? The Uber driver said he almost hit two kids walking to the bus. This is very dangerous because they take up the whole road since there isn't a sidewalk

Duke Energy will install a couple street lights through here, but they are waiting for the developer to complete some work on the eastern end of this block before proceeding. Thanks for your patience.
