City staff had recently conducted a signal study for this intersection. Staff did not recommend signalization because no volume warrants in the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) were met and there was a very low reported crash history which a signal could correct. Old Wake Forest Road falls on the NCDOT State highway System and the City can only make recommendations to the State. Our signal analysis and recommendation was forwarded to them for review.
